The last part of our meta overview will concentrate on top tier Mid heroes in the current meta. Economic and global changes to the game resulted in the return of many forgotten characters who felt out of place in the previous patch, but now sit at the top of popularity and win rate charts.
Everyone’s favorite and most hated position - the carry. This player is your key to victory so make sure you keep him nice and safe while he’s farming. Make sure to never steal the last hits or your carry might retreat into the jungle at level three.
The current meta is unpredictable and ever-changing, but it doesn’t mean there are no clear winners in the support position. Both position four and position five support roles have been changed significantly at the start of the patch and while passive gold and XP gain has been tamed since, supports are still economically better off and have more responsibilities, compared to previous iterations of the game.
We’re excited to announce that Reach Season 1 will end on March 15th and the ESL Academy Draft will take place at the Los Angeles Dota 2 Major on the main stage between matches. Additionally, the finals for season 1 will be taking place at an unannounced ESL One Dota Tournament in May.
One of our goals with the players who are drafted into the finals is to provide them with an experience that money can’t buy. That’s why they will get a treatment that is similar to what the pro players attending the tournament get, from gift bags to food and the player afterparty.

Approaching the Reach launch, there’s been questions arising from the community about the subscription model for Reach. We wanted to take today's blog to address those questions and inform users of our intentions for the subscription process in the Reach platform.
There were less direct support hero reworks in the new patch, but the role feels quite different anyways. 7.23 made supports considerably more relevant throughout the game and it was a pretty awesome change.
We wanted change, and change is what we got, in abundance. There were 14 cores that had their abilities reworked in small to large ways and we won’t know how the changes will impact the meta in the future.
The new heroes started their journey pretty underpowered, not even reaching 45% win rate in their opening days. Players getting acquainted with their skill set and some balance changes have finally made heroes playable in high level pubs and also made it possible to start discussing them, since it is unlikely they will be receiving anything but some minor number tweaks in the nearest future.
